About the Role
North Laurel Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Receptionist to join our team! Since 1982, we have served Laurel and the surrounding community. Our doctors are highly trained and remain at the forefront of veterinary medicine while our staff embraces the latest technological advancements in order to deliver the best possible care for our patients. We are staffed by a dedicated team of veterinary technicians, technician assistants, receptionists, and doctors who strive to offer the most up-to-date medical and surgical procedures available for our patients’ total health care.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Answer telephone system, take accurate messages, and transfer telephone calls to the appropriate person in an efficient manner
- Greet and screen incoming clients in a friendly, professional manner and promptly notify appropriate person of their arrival. Record chief complaint or reason for appointment in medical record
- Schedule client appointments and animal boarding
- Call clients with appointment reminders, overdue notices, and follow-ups as requested by doctors. Print Recall list and make phone calls.
- Check in/out clients and collect appropriate payments
- Contact other animal hospitals to obtain medical records
- Audit all animal’s vaccination ensuring accurate records
- Enter all daily invoices into the hospital’s database
- Type correspondence and memorandums in proper format and assign to animal records
- File, update and maintain all medical records per Hospital requirements.
- Print medical labels and apply to prescriptions as needed
