Jessi Steere, DVM

Chief of Staff

 

Dr. Steere grew up in upstate New York. She attended SUNY Oswego, where she graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in zoology. She then studied veterinary medicine at St. George’s University in Grenada, West Indies.

 

She completed her clinical year at Louisiana State University and began working at a referral and emergency practice in Mandeville, LA. Since then most of her career has been in emergency, until 2020, when she started to work part time as a relief at NLAH. She loved the team and the clients so much that she decided to stay on full time.  Dr. Steere is now the Chief of Staff.  

 

Dr. Steere is currently a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and previous president of the Greater Baltimore Veterinary Medical Association.

 

She also has two mixed breed dogs, Xande and Nutmeg and a sphinx named Nüdel.

 

In her spare time, Dr. Steere enjoys endurance racing (she is a 4x Ironman and has run 100 miles twice!), mushroom hunting, and bird watching. She also loves to travel with her husband Dan, who is an Air Force officer. In 2019, Dr. Steere and her husband climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro. Dr. Steere strives to provide fear-free, compassionate care to the pet patients of NLAH.
